From vine shoots to matter

We are strongly oriented towards projects combining the circular economy and sustainable materials with our products from the Elixbio range.

We have formulated materials combining bioplastics and natural by-products such as vine shoots. The addition of natural fibres or co-products from our region adds value to the material.

A vine shoot is a green branch that the plant produces each year and which bears the bunches of grapes. Vine shoots are pruned in winter or early spring to improve the quality and yield of the harvest. Once pruned, the vine shoots are burnt.

To make the most of this bio-waste from the wine industry, we incorporate it into the material to give it a second life. This reduces the carbon footprint while adding a touch of originality to the material.

It is also possible to combine plant pigments and biodegradable materials to colour your finished product without compromising its biodegradability.
